How is it taken?
Daily use over at least 6 weeks. The usual recommended dose for children and adults is 1 teaspoon a day, preferably 30 minutes after breakfast.

What propolis is and how it works

A well-known beekeeping ingredient, propolis is a mixture of resinous substances, beeswax, vegetable wax and bee saliva, with intense and proven therapeutic value, in various standardised forms. The compounds contained in propolis have made it a genuine antiviral, antifungal, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial agent.

Here is what propolis – the third most important component of beekeeping – contains: it is mainly composed of resin (50%), wax (30%), essential oils (10%), pollen (5%) and other organic compounds (5%). Phenolic compounds, esters, flavonoids, terpenes, beta-steroids, aromatic aldehydes and alcohols are the important organic compounds present in propolis. Twelve different flavonoids, namely, pinocembrin, acacetin, chrysin, rutin, luteolin, kaempferol, apigenin, myricetin, catechin, naringenin, galangin and quercetin; two phenolic acids, caffeic acid and cinnamic acid and a stilbene derivative called resveratrol were detected in propolis extracts.
